The Patreon Experiment

The decision to do this experiment with Patreon is a direct result of the rise of AI. In the age of instant gratification, audiences are less willing to wait for an author to come out with their next book. And it seems bookstores/publishing houses are equally impatient. Check the news, Barnes & Noble recently said they were opening a shelf to AI created novels.

Frankly, art takes time. Multiple drafts are written, re-written, edited and formatted before the book is complete and available for sale. So in an effort to bridge the gap, I am undergoing this Patreon experiment. Utilizing my current Work In Progress - The Graft - I will be posting two chapters a week in both digital and audio form.

Yes, the audio is recorded by me. Yes, I find this terrifying.

If you're looking for a way to support a human author, then Patreon is a good place to start. There are several authors and publishing professionals on Patreon, so if you aren't a fan of my writing in particular, then I encourage you to take a peek at some of the others out there.

If you don't like serialized novels, worry not! Once the novel is completed, it will go through the usual process of revision, editing, formatting and what have you, and be posted for sale.
